About Us

Pregnant womanLowcountry Perinatal Support was founded in 2007 after the death of Lucas Cluver, the week-old son of Kelly Davidson and Matt Cluver. During birth, Lucas suffered from an oxygen deficiency and never recovered. Christina Pittman was Lucas's mom and dad's parenting mentor at the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center and walked with them through the process of memorializing Lucas's life and grieving his loss. With a background in perinatal bereavement chaplaincy, Christina immediately saw the need for a perinatal palliative support program*. Following months of research and preparation, Lowcountry Perinatal Support accepted its first client in late summer of 2007.
