John & kathy harms
John and Kathy Harms live in Oregon and have been married 45 years. They love to travel, take long walks, spend time with family, and serve in their community and church. Both are retired after long careers – software engineering for John, and as an admin in their church for Kathy. They raised three wonderful children and have four amazing grandkids.
When one of their kids came out as a trans woman at age 37, it rocked their faith and the world as they knew it. The one thing they knew was that they loved their child unconditionally and nothing could change that – but how did things fit in the Christian community? Along came Embracing the Journey and the chance to talk with others who were walking the same journey.
They are very thankful for each of the wonderful people in their group who helped them learn how to navigate having a trans child, without judgment and with unconditional love.
