John and Suzanne Connel are both educators who live in Atlanta, GA. They have been married for 36 years. Suzanne taught special education in public school for 30 years and now teaches at the same private Christian school where John has taught Bible for 34 years. Both are very involved in their local church where John has is a worship leader, and Suzanne works in the children’s ministry. They both worked as small group leaders with the youth ministry for a number of years, as well.  Both love music and the theatre and have raise four children who love it as well. Their journey as parents of LGBTQ+ children began in 2018 when their 2nd oldest child came out as gay just after high school graduation. It continued when their younger two children came out during high school, one as trans and the other as gay. The Connels met Greg and Lynn McDonald through their daughter, who Suzanne worked with at the time, and realized they were not alone on this journey. After being part of an ETJ group in 2024 they decided they wanted to help others, and became ETJ group facilitators in 2025.
