He assists people who are navigating the complicated relationship between their sexual or gender identity and Christian faith. Currently, he is the Dr. Arthur P. Rech and Mrs. Jean May Rech Chair and Professor of Psychology at Wheaton College, where he directs The Center for Faith, Gender & Sexuality. In this video, Dr. Mark Yarhouse speaks on gender dysphoria to a group of clinicians at Richmont Graduate University who have gathered for an alumni reunion. This is an incredibly informative and profound talk for parents with transgender children.

This is a MUST-WATCH video for all pastors and parents, whether or not your child is LGBTQ+. Mark Wingfield was a journalist for 21 years before becoming a pastor. When he gave this TED Talk, he was an associate pastor at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. After engaging in a series of enlightening conversations and presentations on the intricacies of gender identity, Pastor Mark felt a calling. In this talk, Mark recounts his journey of becoming one of the transgender community’s most unlikely spokespersons and the human connections that resulted from his willingness to listen.
