David & Deb Quinones
David & Deb have been married for 37 years. They have 2 adult children and live on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. David worked in management consulting for 25 years while Deb remained at home to care for Annie and Josh. They raised their children in a Christian household. When Josh was a senior in college (2012), he told his parents he was bisexual. Later in the year, Josh told them that he was gay.
For a number of years, the journey has been difficult as they’ve learned to live with this new reality. At an early stage in the journey, David, Deb, and Josh commit ted to putting Christ in the middle of their relationship. Their journey has been full of transient suffering and eternal blessings. It is by God’s grace and mercy that they have been drawn closer as a family and to Jesus.
Embracing the Journey by Lynn and Greg McDonald was truly a gift from God for David and Deb. Reading about other Christian parents of LGBTQ+ children helped them know they were not alone. They soon realized that God had given them the opportunity to walk alongside other Christian parents of LGBTQ+ children. Together, they run the Trencadís Foundation, whose mission is to partner with organizations that serve in the community to bring healing, justice, reconciliation, and peace to our world.
