Dawn became a mother through adoption in 2003.  Beginning her parenting journey with the support of a Christian adoption agency, Dawn's desire to raise her child in the faith led her to teach her child Bible stories and Scripture from infancy.  Dawn also served in her church’s youth ministry all through her child’s young life.  You can only imagine how her world was rocked when her child, in adolescence, came out to her as transgender.  Dawn understands the shock, confusion and stages of grief parents move through when their child comes out. Dawn desires to be present with and support parents who are new to this journey, as a listener and prayer partner.
