The Embracing the Journey Speakers Series is an ongoing series of educational, thought-provoking talks designed to help guide and equip you along your journey. By design, some of our speakers will present a more conservative viewpoint while others will be more liberal. We believe that educating yourself about the entire LGBTQ conversation will allow you to be better informed and make the best decisions while listening intently to the Holy Spirit.
Each of these talks will have an extended time for Q & A, where participants can ask speakers questions.
We hope our speaker series encourages you to love your LGBTQ child well while leaning into your faith. We view it as a privilege to help you process the myriad of emotions that come with having an LGBTQ loved one.
Recording of all previous presentations are available for you to view at your convenience.
You are invited to attend our next Embracing the Journey Speaker Series, where Debbie Causey (bio below), a licensed counselor and ordained pastor at North Point Community Church, will be our featured speaker. Please plan to join us for this webinar on Thursday, November 10th, 2022, from 7:30 to 9:00 PM (EDT).
Debbie Causey will be sharing vulnerably about her journey and thoughts from her latest book, The Big Reveal. Debbie will tackle key topics like faith, grief, relational safety, an LGBTQ+ parent's role, your and your child's mental health, and the importance of showing extraordinary love to your child. Like most Christian parents, Debbie was devastated when her son came out. Her grief was compounded by a crisis of faith, wondering whether she and her husband would have to choose between their faith and loving their child. They discovered a path they didn't expect that allowed them to love their LGBTQ child well, hold onto their faith and find God's purposes for them along the way. With the holidays approaching, you won't want to miss this message. You may feel that the once joyous holidays you looked forward to now consume you with anxiety about family members discovering your child is LGBTQ, or worse, worry you and or your child will be judged. Debbie's insights are life-giving and will help equip you for your unique journey. Half of our time together will be allocated for Q and A. |
This event caps off our ongoing series of educational, thought-provoking talks this year. These events are designed to help educate and equip you and provide hope and healing for you on your journey. We hope you'll join us!
There is no cost to attend, and the Zoom webinar platform allows you to remain anonymous. Register NOW and reserve your spot. |
