PARENT CARE GROUPS
Embracing the Journey Parent Care Groups are live virtual small groups conducted via Zoom online meetings. Our groups are created to help Christian parents on their journey of having an LGBTQ+ child. We believe no parent should have to navigate these choppy and uncharted waters alone.
Our groups are comprised of 20 or so parents that meet for one and a half hours twice a month (i.e., 1st and 3rd Monday or 2nd and 4th Wednesday's of the month, etc.). We meet across all North American time zones and in the U.K. Some groups are for parents with lesbian, gay, and bisexual children and other groups are for parents with transgender children.
We introduce Christian parents to other Christian parents, oftentimes with very conservative backgrounds on similar journeys. Here, parents have the opportunity to share their stories, discuss their faith, their fears, prayer requests, and yes, even their successes. These are SAFE and CONFIDENTIAL groups that members of our Embracing the Journey Care Team facilitate. All of our Care Team leaders have an LGBTQ+ child and have experienced significant healing. Lessons are designed to help parents move along the continuum (see image below) from a place of fear and survival to thriving, where they find peace and purpose they once thought impossible.
We would love to invite you to join one of our groups. They are by invitation only, so if you are interested in participating in a group or have questions, please use the contact us button at the bottom of the page. We will schedule a telephone call or Zoom meeting with you to learn more about your and your child's stories. At the same time, we will offer you valuable insights and resources to help you on this journey God has trusted you with.
Don't go it alone. Satan loves to isolate us. He knows that if he can isolate us, eventually we begin to lose hope and believe that God doesn't care. On the other hand, God created us for community.
